Chris Cummings - Director General
About Chris
Chris Cummings was appointed as Director General of AFB on 1st June 2005. Before this, Chris was Deputy Director General of AIFA and Director of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries.
Since taking over the reigns at AFB, he has established a campaigning style of lobbying for the trade body. Speaking out on the issues that matter, his focus for the first year of his work has been: delivering a Compensation Scheme that is financially sustainable, an Ombudsman Service that is fairer to firms and affordable, a focus on FSA costs, and taking the IFA representative to Europe. His key themes have been: reputation, a fairer deal, and membership growth.
Chris was appointed to run AMI in April 2003 as its founding Director. He was previously Marketing Director of Sun Bank plc, and was tempted into banking having spent two years at PwC as a management consultant advising financial services firms across the spectrum.
Prior to this he was with PPP Healthcare and at Mercer Fraser where he was a management consultant serving clients in financial services - and aerospace!
He has views on regulation, some of which can even be printed, so writes regular columns for the trade press.
